Obituary of Ian David Sichelman

Ian David Sichelman, 84 originally from Washington, D.C., passed away on Thursday, December 14, 2023 at his home in Tucson, Arizona.

Ian was born in Washington, D.C. to Ira & Dorothy Sichelman on February 17, 1939. He attended Northwestern High School in Hyattsville, Maryland. Ian served in the United States Army and served until 1961 when he was honorably discharged. He married Gloria J. Stave on March 5, 1961 in Washington, D.C., was married for 18 years and had two children Jamie Lynn Childress of Bunker Hill, West Virginia and Lori Ann Abramson of Boulder, Colorado.

After a successful career in the car business for many decades, in 1996, Ian left the suburbs of Washington, D.C. to semi-retire in Tucson, Arizona where he would continue his passion for the sales and finance industry of RV’s and Motorcycles. Anything he could wash, wax and keep clean was his true passion in life thus he continued his love for riding motorcycles in the hot dessert sun of Tucson and on any open road he could find by way of motorcycle or trailering his motorcycle. Ian found it extremely easy to make friends as he talked to anyone he would meet with similar passions as his.

Ian is preceded in death by his parents, Ira and Dorothy Sichelman of Poway, California.

Ian is survived by his brother, Lewis K. Sichelman (Sandy Bell) of Chesapeake Beach, MD, two daughters, Jamie Lynn (Michael Migliaccio) Childress and Lori Ann (Douglas Larner) Abramson, his six grandchildren, Ilene (Mike) Cerda, Sara (Melvin) Anderson, Jessica (Tyler) Farris, Greg (Amanda) Childress, Ethan and Lindsay Abramson and his three great-grandchildren, Jacob Cerda, Elizabeth & Natalie Childress.

A celebration of life will be planned in the future, January 2024.
