Obituary of James Klann Peterson

Jim Peterson died peacefully at age 80 on February 1st, 2022. He lived a very full and happy life in Minneapolis, Boston, Wilton, CT and Tucson, AZ. Jim served as Director of Investment Management for the IBM Retirement Fund where he managed the fund’s equity and fixed income investments. He also worked as a Senior Investment Officer for John Hancock Mutual Life; and as a Securities Analyst for Northwestern National Bank. Jim received his Juris Doctor from the University Of Minnesota Law School and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University Of Minnesota College of Liberal Arts. He was also a proud member of the University’s Alpha Tao Omega fraternity. In addition to his loving family, Jim’s many passions in life included artwork, antiques, fine dining, bird hunting, golf, travel, automobiles and novels. He held a special fondness for vacationing in Paris, New York Times crossword puzzles, European mystery shows, duck confit, gin and tonic and the many feline friends he owned throughout his lifetime. He will long be remembered and missed by all who knew him including his beloved wife Mary Ellen, son Mike, sister Joan, daughter-in-law Lourdes, grand daughters Kristen and Carly, brother-in-law Michael, niece Devon and nephew Brendan.
