Obituary of Paul Kiefer

Paul Kiefer was born in Lawrence, Kansas to Eugene and Lucille Kiefer on April 3, 1933. He and his family, including his younger brother, Karl, moved to Phoenix in 1942. Paul earned his BA from Arizona State Teachers College where he played the French horn and was in the marching band. He married Helen Elaine McKinley while still in college. He earned his MA from the

University of Arizona. Paul was an Eagle Scout and a Mason. He served in Viet Nam and was the commanding Office of USAPEG at Heilbronn, Germany. Paul retired from the United States Army, in Field Artillery as a Lt. Colonel. Paul was a very independent man. He was interested in and knowledgeable of a wide variety of things; fast cars, the history of the western United States, buffalo, guns and Republican politics. Paul passed away in his home on October 20, 2020.He is survived by his 3 children (Kathe, Eric and Kurt), their spouses (Trip, Wendy and Kara) and 2 grand children (Ryan and Carissa). He is preceded in death by his grandson Lochlann, his ex-wife Elaine and his brother, Karl.
