Obituary of Cecily Ann Simonsen

Cecily Ann (Walker) Simonsen, Born 3/11/1937 in Kalispell, Mt, Died 11/17/2015 Long time Tucson resident, Cecily Simonsen, passed away on November 17, 2015. Cecily is a graduate of Tucson High School and the University of Arizona. Cecily managed a turkey farm in Tucson with her husband, Marlo Chester Simonsen, until his death in 1971. She then retired to Oro Valley where she was active with the YMCA, Human Society, Gospel Rescue Mission and the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum. Cecily loved nature, wildlife, art, photography and gardening. Cecily had many pets throughout her life and faithfully fed the wild birds. Cecily was a member of the Catalina Methodist church. She is survived by her brother, Denis J Walker of Newbury Park, Ca.  Her husband, Marlo had five surviving children. Cecily touched many lives and will be greatly missed. A graveside service will be held at East Lawn Palms Cemetery on Monday, November 23, 2015 at 10:00 am. Donations can be made to the Humane Society of So AZ.
