Obituary of Dorothy Gerhart

Dorothy (Dottie) Gerhart 83, went home to be with the Lord on August 18, 2015. Born in Monett, Missouri in 1932, Dottie moved to Tucson in 1945, married, raised a family and built successful businesses in insurance and real estate. A pioneer in her field, she was the first woman president of the Independent Insurance Agents of Tucson. Dottie was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister. She is survived by her children: Sandra Kreamer (Will), Richard Gerhart (Cindy) and Diane Gerhart (Randy Lacey); seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; her sister, Lavon Powell (Morris); brother, David Ethridge (Anne) and her cherished rescue dog Gizmo. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, August 29, 2015 at ADAIR AVALON CHAPEL, 8090 N. Northern Ave., Tucson. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Interfaith Community Services where she spent many hours as a volunteer.
