Obituary of Wallace Dean Macafee

Wallace Dean Macafee born March 6, 1931 to Kenneth and Ruth (Carlson) Macafee in Elmhurst, Ill., passed away July 11, 2015. After graduating from Glenbard Township H.S. in 1949, Wally joined the United States Air Force serving his country during the Korean War. Upon his return, he married his beloved wife, Glenda in 1955 and spent 54 wonderful years together before Glenda passed in 2009. In June of 1964, they packed up their two daughters and headed west from Illinois to Tucson. It was there they had another daughter and Wally spent the next 51 years in southern Arizona. Wally worked as an engineer for Illinois Bell and Mountain Bell for 30 years retiring in 1985. He loved the outdoors, spending many an evening around a campfire in the Chiricahua Mountains camping and hunting with family and friends. Wally is survived by daughters, Lorna (Gerry) Petersen, Lynn (Scott) Shaffer and Lisa Macafee; seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, sister, Barbara (LeWayne) White; brother-in-law, Buddy (Darlene) Smith; numerous nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Chapel, 7650 N. Paseo del Norte, Tucson, AZ, on Saturday, August 1, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Community Food Bank, P.O. Box 26727, Tucson, AZ 85726-6727 or National Wildlife Federation, P.O. Box 1582, Merrifield, VA 22116-1582. Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Avalon Chapel.
