Obituary of Raymond Francis Hickey

Ray was born on July 27, 1943 in Brooklyn, NY and grew up In Long Island. He is survived by his loving wife Carol and two sisters, Lynn and Barbara. He is also survived by two children, William and Maureen and four step children, John, Jamie, Scott and Melanie. Ray has four grandsons, Ryan, Ian, Jerry and William Hickey and also Christopher, Daniel and Emily Hardt. He also has three great grand children. Ray served in the Air Force, stationed in Germany where he worked in intelligence. He graduated from the Russian Language School at The University of Indiana. He still kept in touch with friends from his days in Germany. Ray's middle name is Francis, and there couldn't have been a better name for him. He had a deep love for animals. He had a deep spiritual side to him, and was a member of The Worker Brothers of The Holy Spirit, an Episcopal religious community that meant a lot to him. You can't remember Ray without also remembering his hilarious sense of humor. He had a dry, wit and made all those around him laugh.He will be missed by so many friends and family and all those whose lives he touched. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the clean water project in Haiti to be made payable to The Worker Sisters /Worker Brothers of The Holy Spirit, 12112 N.
