Obituary of Maria T Campbell

Maria T. (Maite) Campbell God's angel was called Home on February 20, 2015. Each of us who were touched by her love will always carry her faith, strength, compassion, candor, support and unconditional love in our hearts. Born in Panes, Asturias on October 15, 1929, and raised in schools for orphans of the Spanish Civil War in Madrid, Spain, she earned a nursing degree at the University of Madrid. She became an airline hostess, and met Robert F. when he was establishing US civil service offices in Madrid. They were married on March 28, 1958, and moved to Tucson later that year. She raised two children, Teresa and James, and later enjoyed her daughter-in-law, Colleen, and grandchildren, Alex and Chris. Maria was a charter member of OMOS and a founding member of Club España de Tucson (serving many years as President). She became a Registered Nurse in 1981 and later joined Raytheon as a Certified Occupational Health Nurse. She volunteered for the Shriners as a translator and nurse for Children's Clinics. Services will be held on Monday, March 16, 2015 at Our Mother of Sorrows Church which include a Rosary at 9:30 a.m., Mass at 10:00 a.m. and then procession to East Lawn Cemetery for graveside services, followed by a gathering at her home.
