Obituary of Marjorie Creevy Geddes

Marjorie Creevy Geddes 7/25/1916 - 7/31/2014 Marge Geddes passed away peacefully at her home in Tucson six days after her 98th birthday. Marge was born on July 25, 1916 to her loving parents, Joseph and Ima Creevy in Chicago, Illinois. She was a graduate of St. Mary's College in Notre Dame, Indiana in 1938 and married Frank Geddes in Chicago, Illinois later that same year. After their first six years of marriage they moved to Tucson, where she has resided since 1945. She is preceded in death by her husband, Frank; her brothers, Richard, Thomas and Robert Creevy; and her sister, Ruth (Creevy) Geary. During her life she was a very active golfer at the El Rio, El Dorado and Randolph golf courses and spent many years serving as a scorekeeper at the Tucson Open. She also was an ardent bridge player, and participated in many duplicate bridge tournaments. She was very involved in her church and at various times was an active member of the Mothers Club, Sodality, and as a Eucharistic Minister at S.S. Peter and Paul Parish in Tucson. She was an avid reader and crossword puzzle enthusiast who maintained a high level of activity throughout her life. Her graciousness and kind and loving personality will be missed by her many friends and family members, including her nine great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She is survived by her son, Michael (Sheila) in Phoenix, Arizona; her daughter, Janet in Snowflake, Arizona; and six grandchildren, Patrick Geddes (Phoenix, Arizona), Timothy Geddes (Los Angeles, California), Mrs. Naima (Richard) Shuler and Mrs. Anastasia (Timothy) Begley (Flagstaff, Arizona), Dr. Noe (Jennifer) Flores (Portland, Oregon) and Mrs. Talitha (Anthony) Gilmore (Chandler, Arizona). A Memorial Service celebrating her life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 23, 2014 at S.S. Peter and Paul Church in Tucson. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the S.S. Peter and Paul Catholic School Adopt A Student Program, 1946 E. Lee St., Tucson, AZ 85719. Arrangements by ADAIR DODGE CHAPEL.
