Obituary of Loretta Brannon

Loretta B. (Schneider) Brannon passed away peacefully June 27, 2014 in her home at the age of 90. She was born June 12, 1924 in McCook, NE. She received her R.N. degree in 1948 and traveled the country with her fellow nurses, working as a scrub nurse in the operating room. In 1952, she enlisted as a U.S. Air Force nurse and during her military service she would meet and marry Gerald P. Brannon, Jr. an Air Force pilot. Her military career would last until 1957, when she chose to be honorably discharged at the rank of Captain. The couple and their four children would travel across the nation and abroad for many years in the Air Force until settling in Tucson in 1969. She enjoyed crafting, traveling and playing bridge and mahjong with family and friends. She shared many of her talents including knitting, crocheting, sewing and baking not only with her loved ones, but with the various charitable organizations she was involved with throughout her life. Loretta will be greatly missed and forever in our hearts. She is survived by her children, Molly A. Brannon, Barbara E. Brannon (Mark), Gerald P. Brannon, III (Pam), Kathleen L. Trejo (Bernie) and grandchildren, Erin, Ashley (Jim), Mary (Stephen), Kai, Chelsey, Sean, Laurin, Matthew and David.
