Obituary of Arthur Frederick Timmerman Jr.

Arthur Frederick Timmerman Jr. (Fred) passed away on April 11, 2024 at the age of 86. He was born in Moline, Illinois on October 23, 1937 to Arthur and Mary Timmerman. He went into the Navy after high school with fifteen of his friends. He was a fire control technician. When he returned he got his Bachelor of Arts from Augustana College and a Master of Public Administration from the University of Illinois. He spent his career in city administration as Deputy City Manager of Peoria, Ilinois, City Manager of Commerce City, Colorado, Staff Director for the City Council of Denver, and Personnel Director for Denver. He loved playing golf, camping,and fishing with family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Kay Phillips, sons Sean (Donna), Joel (Nancy) and daughter Jennifer (Edwin) Sanchez, as well as granddaughters, Jasmine and Adalee Sanchez. He is also survived by his sister Cheryl (John) Sweeney, and nephews Patrick (Sarah), Michael and niece Jennifer. He will be remembered for his kindness, dry wit and sense of humor and his infectious laugh.
