Obituary of Denise Marie Watts
Denise peacefully left this world to be with the Lord on April 28th, 2023. She was surrounded by her loved ones and was survived by her husband Willie, and three children Jason, his wife Bridget, Alison, Jonathan and his wife Brooke. She had seven grandchildren: Jacob, Kaia, Kellen, Jenna, Jonathan, Alynna, her husband and two children, and Nick.
Denise was born on August 2, 1946 in Manhattan, New York and moved to California when she was 12 years old with her family. She was a graduate of Mater Dei high School in California and loved growing up near the beach. Her favorite times were spending time with family overlooking the ocean.
For a career, she taught computer classes to elementary through junior high for almost a decade. She was involved in church ministries for many years in California and Arizona and most recently participated in women’s faith sharing groups. She has studied her faith and sponsored several candidates, taught sacramental prep classes and led the altar server ministries with Willie. She spent years being involved in Cursillo groups and retreats as well.
She founded and led a Red Hat women’s group for years and enjoyed being a Mary Kay consultant for over 15 years.
She loved spending time with her family by the beach or by the pool, reading a favorite book, playing games with the family, and drawing with her granddaughters.
Denise’s Rosary and Funeral mass will be held on May 18th at 12:30 and 1pm at:
St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church at 8650 N. Shannon Rd.
Her inurnment service will be scheduled for the fall at Arizona Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery at Marana.
