Obituary of Dolores M Brady

Dolores Martinez Brady age 88, passed away peacefully November 26, 2022, at the Villas at La Cañada

in Tucson, Arizona, with her son Lawrence at her side. Dolores is survived by her children Lawrence

(Heather) Brady of Tucson, AZ, Griselda (Scott) Blanchard of Parker, CO, her grandchildren Caitlin

Brady, Gabriela Blanchard, Claire Brady, and Isabela Blanchard. She is survived by her sister Filomena

Martinez Rodriguez. She was preceded in death by her husband Oscar Brady, her 3 brothers Arturo

Martinez Rodriguez, Enrique Martinez Rodriguez, and Roberto Martinez Rodriguez.

Dolores was born February 25, 1934, at a home outside of Saric, Sonora Mexico to Melqueades

Martinez Coyaso and Elena Rodriguez Martinez. She married Oscar A. Brady on June 2, 1956, in

Saríc, Sonora and they were married for 54 years. Dolores obtained her USA citizenship in 1976.

Dolores spent her time in Tucson, building a good life, raising her children, and taking care of her

husband. She travelled to all her children’s events and enjoyed attending U of A football games on

Saturday nights with Oscar. She enjoyed camping, fishing and the occasional hunting trip and she

loved tending her garden and planting every conceivable fruit bearing tree and plant. Not forgetting her

roots, she constantly reminded her children of her culture with stories, food and the best tortillas and

tamales. Dolores enjoyed visitors and always fed anyone and everyone who graced her doorstep.

A wake, viewing is scheduled for Friday, Dec. 2nd at 5:30-8pm with rosary at 7pm at Adair Funeral Homes (Avalon Chapel-Oro Valley), 8090 N. Northern Ave, Oro Valley, AZ 85704.

The funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 3rd with a 9:30am mass at St. Odilia Catholic Church, 7570 N Paseo del Norte; Tucson, AZ 85704. A grave side ceremony will follow immediately after the mass at Holy Hope Cemetery, 3555 N Oracle Rd, Tucson, AZ 85705.
