Obituary of Leroy G Anna

Leroy G. Anna (101), also known as Lee, passed away peacefully on October 26th, 2022.  He was born and raised in Belleville, Illinois and was one of Peter and Olivia Anna’s seven boys.  He met his beautiful and loving wife, Silvina, in Belleville and they were married in 1948. They were married 72+ years and were always together before her passing.

Lee proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II, flying Corsairs off the U.S.S. Lexington.  He enjoyed many years working for the HJ Heinz company.  He was an avid gardener who took pride in his bounty of homegrown vegetables and weed-free lawn.  He loved socializing with friends and family, especially over a rollicking game of cards. 

 
He is survived by 3 children and their spouses, Lori Blikre (Tom), Gary Anna (Josie), Lisa Carr (Mike), four grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

There will be no visitation and the burial will be private. Memorial donations can be to the charity of one’s choice in place of flowers.
