Obituary of Frances Ruth Roberts

FRANCES RUTH NOE ROBERTS, the widow of Richard (Dick) L. Roberts Sr, and the daughter of the late Olney James Noe and Eva Begley Noe Williams, was born in Lee County, Kentucky on December 6, 1942 and departed this life peacefully in her home in Tucson, Arizona on September 9, 2022 at the age of 79 years.

Frances first love was her husband, Dick Roberts to whom she was married to for 48 years before his passing in 2013 as well as raising and caring for her children and grandchildren. She and Dick believed in and cared for their family deeply enough to provide personal day care for their 5 grandchildren from infants until they were old enough to attend preschool creating a special bond with them throughout the years.

Frances was also a retired pediatric Registered Nurse of 30+ years helping countless children at St. Josephs hospital in Lexington, Kentucky and University Medical Center in Tucson, Arizona where for many years she cared for pediatric cancer patients and touched the lives of many young people. She was also a volunteer for the Assistance League of Tucson, AZ.

Frances truly enjoyed traveling and adventures to new places having lived in Beattyville, KY; Lexington, KY; Glendale, CA and Tucson, AZ throughout her life making many lifelong friends throughout her journeys. Frances loved to play games especially the card game Bridge and was a skilled artist and craftsperson that loved working in many different media including gardening, knitting, crochet, needlepoint, pottery, stained glass, sewing and cooking. Her main artistic passion that she pursued throughout her life was quilting. She was a master quilter that produced countless quilts of many designs which she quite often lovingly gifted to many family and friends.

Frances is survived by her Son Richard L. Roberts Jr. and his wife Amy Roberts, her daughter Cynthia A. Roberts Toering and her husband David Toering as well as her beloved grandchildren Hailey Roberts, Alexandra Roberts, Cameron Toering, Christine Toering and Hannah Toering of Tucson, AZ; her brother, Herbert Noe of Beattyville, KY; two sisters, Charlotte Chadwell of London, KY and Lois Hollon of Beattyville, KY; as well as a host of other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends that loved her dearly.

In addition to her parents and husband, Frances was preceded in death by a sister, Edna Grace Noe Crabtree, brother, Charlie Noe; and a sister, Helen Noe Bradford.

She was very much loved and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She is now in glory with her heavenly Father and at peace.

Donations suggested to the Trinity Presbyterian Church or the Assistance League of Tucson.

Funeral, interment in the memorial garden and reception to be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, Sept 24th, 2022 at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Tucson AZ.
