Obituary of Judy Alice Bruce

 

Judy Bruce (Thompson)

1951-2022

Judy passed away on August 3, 2022, at 12:32 AM in Tucson, Arizona after a long battle with brain cancer. She had been in remission from glioblastoma for 12 years when it returned with a vengeance in November 2021.

She was born in Norwich NY on July 13, 1951, to Alice Westover Thompson and Arthur Thompson who have predeceased her.

Judy is survived by her husband of 36 years, Bill Bruce, son Brian McNitt, stepson Eric Bruce (Mikila) and her precious grandchildren Alexa, Matthew, Cierra, and Anthony. She is also survived by her sister Sandy Thompson Beinar, brother Gary Thompson, his son Rob Thompson (Jessica) and their children Mason and Riley. She leaves behind her Aunt Joyce Pollock and many cousins, and friends.

Judy was an amazing, loving, and generous lady. She valued her wonderful family and friends, all of whom rallied around her during her battle. She looked forward to travel, camping, playing cards, Mahjong and especially being together for food and laughter. Her time spent with her grandchildren was her greatest joy. She will be missed and always loved.

We want to thank everyone for your time, meals you provided, flowers, cards, calls, and gifts. Your generosity will not be forgotten. We also want to thank the staff of Peppi’s House. Every need was addressed with kindness. Nurse Brian’s compassion and skill was a thing to behold.

No formal services will be held. A small celebration of life will be held later.
