Jean Nolan Krygelski

Obituary of Jean Nolan Krygelski

On June 6th, 2022, an angel was called back to heaven. Jean Nolan Krygelski (born Nellie Jean Nolan), 74, passed away at her home with her family at her side. She is survived by her husband, John David Krygelski; her children Michael John Nolan, Karin Krygelski Nolan (David Willard), and Sara Nolan McCallum (Jeff); and six grandchildren. She was preceded in passing by her father, Michael Earl Nolan and her mother, Nellie Ahee Nolan.

Not only was she the kindest, loving, most compassionate and generous wife and mother imaginable, she was known to her family, friends and colleagues as brilliant and inquisitive, with a rapier sharp wit. A Tucson native, she graduated from The University of Arizona with two bachelors and two masters degrees. Jean wore many professional hats; she was a government teacher, paralegal, researcher, political campaign strategist, speech writer, co-manager and owner of a local Tucson commercial construction company, and finished her professional career as a phenomenal book editor and writer.

However, none of the above can begin capture the impact and influence that she had upon those she loved and those who loved her. Being the focus of her love was an indescribable joy...a bright and beautiful light that illuminated an occasionally dark world. Her selflessness toward her family is a legacy in itself. She defined loyalty. She personified trust. And her absence has left a hole within each of her family that can never be filled.

Now that she is gone, the world seems a darker, sadder place. But we must remember that due to her presence here, it is now brighter and more beautiful than she found it.
