Obituary of Ajak Jackson Joseph Ruai

On Saturday, June 11, 2022, Jackson Joseph, a loving son, brother and an uncle passed away at the age of 21.

Jackson was born on November 23, 2000 in Alexandria, Egypt to Joseph Magol and Nyriak Malei. At the age of 3, Jackson moved to Tucson, Arizona where he was raised and attended elementary school, middle school and then graduating High School. Jackson graduated from Amphitheater High School on May 23, 2019, then received his Associate Degree from the College of Southern Idaho in May of 2021, then later transferring to Oakland City University to pursue his Bachelor’s degree on January 2022.

Standing at 6’6, Jackson had a passion for basketball from the moment he learned how to crawl, walk, run, and jump; and was in the process of playing for a professional Canadian basketball league.

Jackson was a charming, fearless, humble and selfless individual who lit up the room and everyone’s mood with his kind welcoming smile the moment he would enter any building. He loved his family and friends dearly and showed the utmost kindness even to strangers. He was born a natural leader, with a heart of a lion. No obstacle was ever too extreme to tackle for Jackson, and everyone knew Jackson was destined to be somebody great.

Jackson is survived by his father Joseph, his mother Nyriak Malei, three older sisters, two older brothers, one younger brother, nieces, nephews and several of his cousins. The presence and bright aura of our beloved Jackson will truly be missed. Gone but never forgotten; may he rest in paradise.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 9th, 2022 at St. Cyril of Alexandria Roman Catholic parish 4725 E Pima St. Tucson, Az 85712 at 9am. Burial will be held at 11:30am at the Evergreen Mortuary and cemetery 3015 N. Oracle Rd, Tucson, Az 85705.
