Barbara Cherardi

Obituary of Barbara E. Cherardi

Our dearest mother, Barbara E. Cherardi, who was also our dearest friend, passed away early on May 1, 2022. After retiring from the Graphics Design department at the U of A as a typesetter for over 20 years, she enjoyed spending time with our dad and family. We will miss her and love her all the rest of our lives. We were so fortunate to have this beautiful woman as our mom. Anyone who knew her loved her, and those who met her knew what a personable and friendly woman she was. She felt at ease even with strangers, striking up conversations anytime she had the opportunity. But now she is in Heaven with our dear father and our wonderful sister Debbie, whom we know she missed so much. May she rest in peace and until we meet again…

Visitation will be from 11 am to 3 pm on Friday, May 6, at Adair Funeral Home located at 8090 N. Northern Avenue in Tucson, AZ 85704. Rosary and scripture will begin at noon.

Barbara was born in Chicago, IL, to Joseph and Elizabeth Skidmore on October 23, 1933. She came from a large family including her siblings Joseph, Roderick, Mary, Pauline, Katherine, and Margaret (now survived by Mary Sliwa and Margaret Skidmore).

She was married to the love of her life, Casper, for 67 years and together they had four children: Karen Bybee (Mark), Mary Conlin (David Mikula), the late Debra Tharge (Bill), and Barbara J. Cherardi (Sonny Ray Leon). Their grandchildren include Kurt, Jesse, and Timothy Bischoffer; Rick, James, Michael, and Laura Conlin (Meyer); Phillip and Marie Roush (McDonald). She also had many loving great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

We want to extend our sincere gratitude to all the doctors, nurses, and staff who cared for our mother during her illness. Also, the nurses and team at Valor Hospice went beyond our expectations caring for her so lovingly
