We were so saddened to hear of John's passing. We were friends for 60+ yrs. and continued to remained friends after his beloved Florence passed. In all of John's Christmas letters and on the phone he talked of Florence and the wonderful times we all had together. We would get together about every 2 weeks at one of our homes and just talk, laugh and play cards. We all went to Mt. Lemon together and took all our kids for a fun and memorable picnic. We went to the same Church and some of us sang in the choir. Wonderful times and memories. Our love and prayers go out to Barbara, Michael and Peggy and all the family. You remain in our hearts. Our beloved Dad/Grandpa will be greatly missed by all and has left a void in our family that can never be filled. For as sad as this time is, we take great comfort in knowing that he finally gets to see our Mom/Grandma, Florence, after 21 long years without her. We will greatly miss our hours long phone calls filled with old family memories and the new current events of his day to day life; to the periodic letters written to us using his tried and true manual typewriter. He was our rock, our guidepost and as time moves forward, one of our greatest memories.
