Obituary of William Aaron Carnes

Aaron Carnes, 77, of Tucson, Arizona passed away on January 17, 2021 due to complications from COVID-19.

Aaron was born December 31, 1943 to Gloria Jane and William (Jack) Carnes in Coco, Florida. He was raised in Miami, Florida, where he lived until 1973 when he, his then wife Patricia, and two young children moved to Tucson, Arizona. Aaron raised his family there before moving to Atlanta, Georgia in 1988 where he worked as an accountant. It was there that he met the love of his life, Julie (née Kelly) at a bridge tournament in 1993. They were married in October of that same year. Aaron and Julie lived in Atlanta then Nashville before returning back to Tucson to retire. Together they enjoyed traveling, trying new restaurants, and trips to Julie’s childhood vacation spot Pawley’s Island, South Carolina with the whole family. They fit a lifetime’s worth of love and happiness into 27 short years.

Outside of his love for his family, Aaron was passionate about playing bridge, eating delicious food, and his beloved German Shepherds. His current Shepherd, aptly named Joy, was christened as such because of the joy she brought to his soul.

Aaron was very active in the bridge community. He played several times a week at the Adobe Bridge Center alongside many of the dear friends he made there.

If you knew Aaron, you knew his great love for a wonderful meal. Some of his favorite places to dine around town were Popeye’s Fried Chicken and Lucky Wishbone. He was well loved by the staff, and known by name. His presence will surely be missed there.

Aaron is survived by his beloved wife Julie Kelly Carnes, son William (Angela) Carnes, daughter Sarah (Dani) Carnes Kacer, his six grandchildren KayLeigh Carnes, Hailey Parish, Tanner Carnes, Kathryn (Michael) Muncher (née Carnes), Terry Parish, and Tyler Parish, great grandson Micah Muncher, sister Sandra Rapp and niece Samantha Rapp.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Adobe Bridge Center.
