Gaylord Milbrandt

Obituary of Gaylord Milbrandt

Gaylord (“Gay”) Frank Milbrandt passed into God’s loving arms December 28, 2020 after a mighty struggle with Alzheimer’s disease.

Born October 6, 1940 in Hazen, ND to Leone Babitzke, he was soon adopted by Leone’s aunt and uncle, Pauline and Frank Milbrandt from Aberdeen, SD.   Gay spent his growing up years in Aberdeen attending Adams Elementary, Aberdeen HS and Northern State College.   He was an avid fisherman and hunter of pheasants and geese during his high school and college days and then again, with the same buddies, in his 60’s.

His career was diversified and interesting. He spent many years in the computer world…and a decade as a management consultant to worldwide companies.  His career allowed him to travel around the world and enjoy many friendships with clients in foreign countries.

Gay was able to retire young and enjoy golf in Arizona.   Retirement also meant he could continue the joy of a spring fishing trip to Northern Minnesota and Canada.  The first trip in 1964 was with guys from the office and as the years went by he was joined by his two sons, Jon and Dave, as well as new friends.   It’s a trip of almost 50 consecutive years!

Gay’s proudest moments were seeing his sons grow into the special men they are today and the wonderful families they are nurturing.  Gay is survived by his loving wife, Peggy, of 46 years; sons, Jon and Dave (Kellie);  two granddaughters, Kristen (Scott) Jacob, Melissa (Jake) Giesler; grandson, Maxwell Milbrandt and  great granddaughter, Amelia Jacob, and Max, his special dog and walking companion.

Any donations in Gay's name should be made out to Peppi's House2715 N Wyatt Dr, Tucson, AZ 85712.
