Obituary of Jesus P Lopez

April 16, 1930 – November 10, 2020

Jesus Lopez returned to his heavenly home peacefully in his earthly home at the age of 90 surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, November 10, 2020. Jesus was born August 16, 1930  in Riva Palacios, Mexico to Jesus Lopez and Rosa Perez.  His devotion to his family and his firm belief in the gospel of Jesus Christ supported him in his health struggles and ultimately gave him peace and hope for a future joyous reunion with the loved ones he leaves behind. He is survived by his loving wife Soledad of 60 years, his 11 children Ramon, Martin, Maria, Sonia, Elizabeth, Maricela, Maria de la Luz, Ana, Arturo, Maria and Daniel; 45 grandchildren; 93 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren, all of whom he loved and adored deeply and desired nothing more than the best for them.

Jesus was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where he provided great service to the Lord and blessed many lives with his faithful service both in Mexico and in the United States serving in different capacities over the years such as a branch president, counselor to the Bishop and as a Spanish-speaking patriarch for southeast Arizona, to name a few. He especially loved missionary work and sought every opportunity to teach the gospel to investigators seeking to come unto Christ. His family and the gospel of Jesus Christ were the two things he treasured most in this life and his hope was that his family would always continue to love each other and remain close to one another.  He also longed for his entire family to embrace and live the gospel and to love it as much as he did.  The gospel of Jesus Christ was the most important legacy he wanted to leave behind for his entire family.
