Obituary of Chase Sabrina Santua

Chase Santua left us far too soon, on September 5, 2020, at the age of 22.  She was a smart, caring, kind and beautiful young woman, who had a passion for animals, loved school and Seattle.  Ever since she was a kid, Chase showed not only a passion but a determination for school; she greeted academic challenges with a formidable spirit and determination that is rare to see.  Her passion for science continued when she attained her Bachelor’s of Science degree in Biomedical Science with an emphasis in Veterinary Science. Her focus on veterinary science stemmed from her deep and intense love of animals. She showered her companion dog, Osita, with all the love in the world, for many years.  Most recently she saved and cared for her 3 other dogs and her gecko Napoleon. Not only did Chase give her generosity and love to her own pets, she also dedicated hours to caring for animals, volunteering at various Animal Care and Rescue organizations.

Chase’s love was limitless, and she showered her friends and family with loving support, complemented with her amazing baking skills; often she would cook and bake and ensure that everyone she loved had more than their fair share of her caringly made dishes, including fictional food and drink from her favorite series, Harry Potter. Out of her love of reading came her other past-time, writing. She would spend hours some days creating her own stories. One of her best attributes was her bravery. She moved all the way across the country to attend school and wasn’t scared to move to a new place where she didn’t know anyone, for one second.  She was brave when she travelled to what became her favorite destination, Seattle, at 21.  She said that that was the only place she ever went to that immediately felt like home.  However, her thirst for travel was sparked at the age of 16, when her high school French teacher gave her the opportunity to travel to Europe.  That trip led to a love of travel that has continued ever since.

She was a beautiful, kind, and empathetic soul who will always be remembered for the love she showed to her animals, friends, and family.
