Chapman Jr. and brothers George  Vowles and Robert Vowles.  She is survived by her daughter Lynn and son William IV (Susanna); grandsons William V (Johanna), Andrew, Erich, and great-grandchildren William VI and Alice.  She is survived by siblings, Esther Brown, Marilyn Speck, Rosemarie Jalette, Donald Vowles,  James Vowles, Kenneth Vowles, Virginia Watkins, Linda Race, William Vowles, and Muriel Pearson.

Evelyn had a 45+ year career with Carondelet St. Mary’s as a nurse and a nurse practitioner.   She was a lifelong learner and began her nursing career as a graduate of the Rhode Island Hospital School of Nursing.   After moving to Tucson she attended the University of Arizona, obtaining Bachelor and Masters Degrees in both Nursing and Education.  She also received her Geriatric Nurse Practitioner degree from the UofA.  Throughout her nursing career she volunteered with multiple community agencies; two of the highlights include the  coordination of First Aid for the Colorado Rockies at Hi Corbett Field and Tucson Rodeo for over 10 years.

Family was a priority.   She doted on her grandchildren.   Trips to New England, baseball parks, cruises and UofA football were amongst their activities.  She was excited to be a great-grandmother and made it a priority to go to Massachusetts to see them as often as possible.  Annual trips to New England were a highlight where she would visit family, eat chowder, clam cakes and ice cream while breathing the ocean air.
