Obituary of Gerald Leo Seeger

Gerald(Jerry) L Seeger Age 84 Of Tucson Passed Away Feb 24th, 2020, Preceded in death by: His parents, Jacob Seeger and Rozella(Deveney)Seeger, HI his brother Cliff Seeger and his sisters (Mary Seeger, Francis Seeger, Rose Lee Hindman, Helen Schroeder, Celine Cole, Agnes Farrington, Carol McRae) Survived by: His sister Jean Marie "Beattie" Heit, his 6 children (Jerry, Ann, Sarah, James, John, Jeff) and 6 Grandchildren. Gerald "Jerry" Seeger passed away due to complications from his Prostate Cancer. Mr. Seeger was living at Devon Gables Rehabilitation Center at the time of his death to be close to his love of the last 18 years, Lila Strong. Gerald moved to Tucson in 1987 to be near family and worked for Kino Community Hospital from which he retired in 1999. He was a devout Catholic and attended services at St Pius X Catholic Church with Lila. Family was very important to him as well as his faith in God. Gerald loved to go dancing and going to Swap Meets all over the Tucson area Buying & Selling Collectibles and Antiques. He was well liked in the community and could be found working every year with the Special Olympics. Gerald was also a painter for over 50 years and did a lot of work in the Tucson, AZ and Topeka, KS areas. He also served in the US Army for 6 years from 1957-1963 with most of it at Pine Bluff Arsenal, Arkansas and played on the Baseball and Basketball teams while there. Gerald loved playing a variety of sports and competed in the Senior Games whenever he was able to. Gerald had a way of making people smile and was a welcomed friendly face wherever he went. He will be missed by everyone who knew him! Memorial/Celebration of Life) will be held at Adair Dodge Chapel On Wednesday March 18th from 1:00-3:00 pm. with Deacon Dennis Ranke officiating.
