Obituary of Marlene R. Barnard

Marlene R. Barnard born December 12, 1951, and with great sorrow to many, passed in peace on Sunday March 23, 2014. Our Father in heaven has enveloped her in his keeping, and we who have known her shall forever have her in our hearts. Marlene will be deeply missed by her surviving husband of 43 years, Robert; her two sons, Brent and Brian, and their wives, Leslie and Amanda. She will also be missed, and maybe most of all, by her five very wonderful grandchildren, Sean, Abigail, Alex, Grant, and her newest Owen. As she told her husband, they are my angles on earth and my best little buddies. She is survived too by her eight brothers and sisters and a wealth of friends across the country. Marlene was born in Lafayette, IN, attended grade school at Saint Mary's in Dunnington, IN, and graduated High School at Benton Central, where she met her husband. She went on not to become a Doctor, a Lawyer, or a Banker, but instead to be a true and trusted friend of all she met. Her smile could warm the coldest of mornings, dispel the worst of fears, comfort a saddened heart, and end the painful tears. Those who knew her as family will remember her as a loving Wife, a Mother, a Grandmother, a Sister, an Aunt, and as a very dear friend. For those who knew her well, she was there to offer her companionship, encouragement, support, comfort, and, most of all, her loving friendship. For those who met her in passing, Marlene always shared her infectious smile, a kind word, and an attentive ear. She will be missed by all with whom she shared a tender touch, a word of encouragement, or a warming smile. Though taken far too quickly, her presence will be a part of us forever. We thank God for the time He allowed her to share with us, and entrust Him and His Heavenly Kingdom with her eternal keeping. Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 29, 2014, at ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Avalon Chapel, 8090 N. Northern Ave., Oro Valley, AZ 85704. 520-742-7901. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital .
