Obituary of Norman Dean Angell

Norman D. Angell, 82, Tucson, went to be with his Heavenly Father on November 16, 2013. He was born November 2, 1931, in Berwyn, IL, the second of three children to Charles and Florence (Wilson) Angell. He attended Danville H.S., Eureka College, and Milwaukee School of Engineering. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard during the Korean War. On October 24, 1959, he married Patricia Jean Kelly in Danville, IL. They lived in Grove City, OH, until 1971, when they moved to Tucson. There he worked with his father at Jerry's Auto Parts, a family-owned business. In Ohio he worked as a technical writer. Norman had a deep faith in Christ and was a loving, caring and gentle man dedicated to his family. He enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren participate in church, school and sports activities. He also enjoyed animals, woodworking, and the outdoors. He is preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law, Merlin Kelly; brothers-in-law, Mike Kelly and Jerry Harper. He is survived by his wife, Patricia; daughters, Kelly (Fili) Islas, Karla Angell-Holmes, Teresa Angell; son, Eric (Chris) Angell; and grandchildren, Kyle, Katie, Kevin, Jordyn, Rachel, Mark, Jacob and Sara. He is also survived by his sisters, Beverly Harper and Bobbie (Ron) Larsen; sister-in-law, Mary Jean (Roger) Southorn; mother-in-law, Alberta Kelly; and nephews and nieces, Mike Harper, John Kelly, Lori Melchi, Temple Smolen, Sue Hendrickson and Nancy Kelly. Visitation will be from 12:00-2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 23, 2013, at Adair Funeral Homes-Avalon Chapel, 8090 N. Northern Ave. Funeral Service will follow at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Casa de la Luz Hospice Foundation.
