Carl Hazlett

Obituary of Carl Hazlett

Carl "Bull" Hazlett born in Tarentum, PA, June 7, 1938, was called to Heaven September 28, 2013. He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Nancy D. Hazlett; six children and stepchildren, Craig (Brenda) Hazlett, Christie (Tim) Allen, Darin (Cyndi) Fila, Susan (Bryan) Goldsmith, Debbie (John) Kern, and Richard (Becky) Dischner; 14 grandchildren; and sister, Janice (Harold) Cunningham. Carl loved his family, his God, the practice of law, his Wildcats, the Tucson Conquistadores, and life in general. As one of the founders of youth football in Tucson, he enjoyed seeing the organization grow to what it is today. He was inducted into the Tucson Conquistadores in 1969, served as PGA Tucson Open Tournament Chairman in 1986, and represented the Conquistadores on the American Golf Sponsors Board for ten years. Carl served on the Board of the Tucson Conquistadores Foundation, and was the President of the La Paloma Country Club for two years. "Bull" came to the University of Arizona on a football scholarship in 1956. He was a four-year letterman. After graduating from the University of Arizona Law School in 1963, he maintained a very successful, full-time practice until his death. He was the ultimate competitor and loved to represent the underdog. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be sent in his name to The Tucson Conquistadores Foundation, 6450 E. Broadway Blvd., Tucson, AZ 85710, to The University of Arizona Athletics, Wildcat Club, P.O. Box 210096, Tucson, AZ 85721, or to the charity of your choice. There will be a Celebration of Carl's life on Saturday, October 5, 2013, at 3:00 p.m. at La Paloma Hotel. Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Avalon Chapel.
